15 Minute Routines for Health
Join us if you are interested in discovering how breath and movement can positively impact your health and well being.
We will focus on short and easy-to-learn sets of exercises that loosen tensions, energize the body/mind, and harmonize the flow of Qi energy. They work very well when there is no time in our busy lives, when we do not know how to start with meditation, stretching and Tai Chi, and as a regular practice.
In this class, you will learn several 15 minute routines for you to practice on your own, selecting what you like the most or get the most benefits from:
- simple breathing techniques
- a set of stretches designed to open the twelve main Qi-energy meridians
- a short graceful Tai Chi form
- initial warming up of the body through simple dynamic exercises
The approach is very gentle, and this class is suitable to everyone. Care will be taken to adapt exercises to your unique situation if need be. Simply inform the instructor if you have any health concerns.
Make sure you wear loose comfortable clothing. We will practice barefoot. Avoid a heavy meal 2 hours prior to the class (but an empty stomach is not necessary). Bring your favorite drink in a closed container.
For your comfort, the number of participants is limited and we will unfortunately not be able to accommodate walk-ins.
Thank you for registering as soon as you can!
About the instructor, Patricia Béretta
My Tai Chi practice has been rather irregular until I discovered a short Tai Chi form that can be done anywhere (in a hotel bedroom, on a deck, in a rec room etc). I could finally enjoy the health benefits and stress relief that Tai Chi brings. Even though my life as a biomedical professional was extremely busy and frequent traveling or moving made me an irregular student, I found that there are always 10 to 15 min. in a busy day, especially when they are so enjoyable!
During my training as a Shiatsu therapist, I developed a more regular meditation practice as well. In addition, I learned a set of stretches that open the main Qi meridians.
I noticed that energy flows better when the body is warm. That's why I added a join loosening sequence at the beginning, and when time allows a more dynamic set of exercises to strengthen the core and increase circulation in key muscles. I selected them out of my experience in all kind of sports, and from where I most frequently observe tensions in people as a therapist, and find them suitable to persons from all walks of life.
By teaching short sequences and sharing what I have learnt about health, I hope to help you develop a fun and rewarding practice, and get you excited about experiencing new ways to move your breath, energy and body.
